Tax Year 2021 Electronic Signature

To e-file your tax year 2021 federal tax return, you must sign and validate your electronic tax return by entering your prior- year Self-Select PIN or your prior-year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI).

2020 5-digits Self-Select PIN (1a and/or 3a)

If you e-file your tax return last year, you can find in your tax year 2020 federal tax return. This is a five-digit PIN. If you did not e-file last year, this field must be blank.

2020 Adjusted Gross Income (1b and/or 3b)

If you file your tax return last year by e-file or paper, you can find on line 11 of TY2020 Form 1040. This number must be in original accepted return (not amended). If you did not file your tax return last year or this is your first year, then, enter 0 for your 2020 AGI. If you do not have a copy of your TY2020 federal tax return, please do not guess or try to figure out your AGI. 2021 5-digits Self-Select PIN (2 and/or 4)

The Self-Select PIN method allows you to electronically sign your e-file return by using a five-digit PIN as your signature. The five-digit PIN (Personal Identification Number) can be any five numbers except all zeros.
